Barcelona Moves Closer to the Semifinals After Big Victory Over Borussia Dortmund

FC Barcelona demonstrated outstanding performance in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, crushing their German guests Borussia Dortmund with a 4-0 victory at home. Polish star Robert Lewandowski shone brightly, scoring two goals in the second half to lead his team a step closer to the semifinals.
As expected, Barcelona asserted their dominance from the very first moments and opened the scoring through Raphinha in the 25th minute. Despite their attempts to increase the score, they were thwarted by goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, who made several fantastic saves in the first half.
Barcelona came back stronger in the second half, doubling their lead just three minutes after the restart. Following a brilliant pass from Raphinha, Lewandowski slotted the ball into the net from close range. The Polish striker then assisted for the third goal in the 66th minute before his teammate Jamal capped off the scoring in the 77th minute after a swift counterattack.
In his remarks to Movistar Plus, Lewandowski stated, "We know we played well, but we have to maintain our focus. Our goal is to win every match, including the return leg in Dortmund next week."
Barcelona maintained their winning streak, which has reached 23 matches unbeaten across all competitions, and they are the only team in the major European leagues to remain undefeated in 2025. Currently, Barcelona leads La Liga by four points over their traditional rival Real Madrid, who are preparing to face them in the Copa del Rey final.
The Catalan team shone against Dortmund, as they have against almost all their opponents, and it could be argued that they could have achieved an even greater victory were it not for Kobel's brilliance. Nevertheless, Raphinha scored the first goal after receiving a pass from Inigo Martínez, and despite Borussia Dortmund’s moments of dominance, Lewandowski and Jamal finished the match with an impressive scoreline.
