Israeli Forces Penetrate New Areas: Israel Discovers Military Infrastructure in Mount Sheikh
-
The Israeli incursion into new areas of Mount Sheikh comes amid the complexities of the Syrian scene, where Israel is capitalizing on the distraction of other parties with internal conflicts

The Israeli army has revealed that its forces penetrated new sites in the Mount Sheikh area in the southwest of Syria during the past week.
This incursion marks a significant development in Israel’s military policy along the Syrian border, reflecting the continued proactive approach it adopts toward what it perceives as potential security threats.
An Israeli army statement reported: "Last week, the 810th Brigade of Division 210 carried out operations in new areas at the summit of Mount Sheikh in Syria, aimed at disrupting threats and seizing enemy equipment in the area."
These operations raise questions about their timing and scope, especially amid the complex situation in Syria and the region at large, and the new Syrian government's focus on internal arrangements.
The statement continued: "During the operation, the 810th Brigade and the 'Yahalom' Unit discovered military infrastructure, including weapons and an explosive device weighing dozens of kilograms."
It also stated: "The Israel Defense Forces will continue their operations against terrorist infrastructure at the summit of Mount Sheikh to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens and residents of the Golan Heights."
This statement reflects Israel's intention to maintain its operations in the region, signaling a long-term strategy to control strategic areas bordering the occupied Golan Heights and preempt any attempts to use them as military sites against Israel.
