Russia: We Will Not Allow the Division of Syria, and We Are in Contact with the New Syrian Authorities

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced a series of important statements regarding the situation in Syria, emphasizing Russia’s commitment to not allowing the country to be divided, warning that Israel should not secure itself at the expense of others' security.
Pointing to the importance of cooperation with the new Syrian authorities, Lavrov said, “We hope to work with them after the transitional phase, especially in the fields of economy and investment.” He reaffirmed that Russia supports Syria in facing negative scenarios, stating, “The collapse of Syria cannot be allowed, even though some wish for it.”
In the same context, Ahmad al-Shara, a Syrian official, described Syria's relationships with Russia as old and strategic, which Lavrov confirmed by saying, “We affirm this approach and are discussing technical issues related to the security of our citizens and our embassy with the new Syrian authorities.”
In conclusion, Lavrov expressed hope for the resumption of economic cooperation with the new Syrian authorities, confirming that Russia is in continuous contact with Damascus through its embassy. These statements reflect Russia's vision to reinforce its relationship with Syria amid changing circumstances.
